KMU established the Center for Promotion of Industry-University
\nCooperation as the administrative office to integrate resources in
\nacademic and industrial fields and release research potential
\nto the field of industry in August 2008. This center is in charge of
\nthe integration of university-industry cooperation, enterprise
\nincubation, and patent transfer. With only the one service center,
\nefficient coalition of the resources of three colleges in KMU, and
\nclinical practice synergy, the center actively connects with the
\nnearby national science park and the alliance schools of universityindustry
\ncooperation and other research institutes to create a platform
\nfor promoting the collaboration of the healthcare industry.
\nIn addition, industry-university cooperation has become a necessary
\npolicy for national development. Therefore, in order to support this
\npolicy, KMU reorganized the center into the \u201cOffice for Operation
\nof Industry and University Cooperation\u201d in March 2013.
\nWith many outstanding clinical practice and research
\nprofessionals in the biopharmaceutical field and rich
\nresearch resources, KMU has united the resources of
\nKMU hospitals, the biotechnology industrial park in
\nSouthern Taiwan, strategic partnerships and the industrial
\nassociation to drive the invention of products and the
\nupgrading of techniques for traditional industry and newlyestablished
\nenterprises in Southern Taiwan. This will
\nassist the upstream and downstream biopharmaceutical
\nindustries to integrate their research and development,
\nperform clinical experiments, transfer technical expertise,
\nand collaborate together.
\nRecently, KMU has been ahead of other private universities
\nin the aspects of an industry-university cooperation budget,
\nderivative intellectual property interests, and the number of
\npatents. KMU has taken advantage of a sound operational system
\nand cooperation mode to develop connections with local medical
\ninstrumentation industries and assist in promoting the development
\nof biotechnological medical plants.
\nBy combining biotechnological medicine and medical
\ninstrumentation to propel industry-university cooperation, KMU
\nhopes to strengthen links between academic research and
\ndevelopment and innovative industries, thereby transforming
\nacademic energy into industrial profit.<\/p>\n

Integrating KMU medical system\u2019s abundant teaching and research resources in long-term healthcare and strong medical service, KMU
\nreceived Moe\u2019s three-year projects of Smart Life Creativity and Starting an Enterprise incubation platform trial project. The course,
\n\u201cHow to start an enterprise,\u201d is internalized into every department to let the seed of starting an enterprise spread over the campus. This
\ncourse is evaluated with 240 courses from 62 colleges and universities in Taiwan and won \u201cSmart Living integrated professionals
\ncultivation project outstanding course.\u201d In addition, KMU set up \u201cthe forum of starting an enterprise\u201d on campus to offer an area for the
\nteam of starting an enterprise to exchange ideas. By a series of efforts, KMU expects to become a model of \u201cthe model University of\u00a0starting an enterprise.\u201d<\/p>\n

Basing on KMU\u2019s educational concept and coordination of the transformation of the industrial structure, KMU in the meanwhile perceives
\nthe need to cultivate the premium professionals able to connect with industries and hopes to cultivate students to become translators who
\ncan connect research and industry by scheduling plural activities and practical courses, visiting biotechnological parks and outstanding
\nenterprises, getting internships from enterprises, introducing industrial resources and experiences, and transforming students\u2019 disposition
\nfrom passiveness to proactiveness.
\nBesides, KMU will introduce industrial analysis and management courses, hold diverse industry-related lectures, equip students with
\nfundamental commodification of skills and knowledge of starting an enterprise, cultivate students with creativity and starting-an-enterprise
\nskills, and enable them to learn how to manage core skills and commodification of service and ability to plan a business so as to achieve
\nthe goal of combining knowledge and practice.
\nThis will be achieved by making school research teams and students join courses and activities concerning patenting of skills,
\ncommodification of skills and industrialization of skills, rooting the concept of industry-university intellectual property, acquiring how to
\ndevelop high-valued industrial mode and potential skills or embryonic products, exploring more actively the value of the creative
\nresearch outcomes, promoting the research outcomes into a newly-established enterprise, and creating a milieu of starting an enterprise
\non campus. The premium professionals cultivated by KMU will no longer just be job seekers but impellers or creators of industrial
\ndevelopment who can bring what they have learned into full play in a more creative way.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
