Research Interests

RI My research interests lie in the fields of Bioinorganic chemistry, computational inorganic chemistry and chemical education.

A. Bioinorganic Chemistry

  In this theme, the research projects are mainly focus on two fields: (a) Design of the coordination bonding chemosensors which are controllable via dynamic covalent bond. (b)  Design of the novel metallodrug for medicinal inorganic chemistry. We are especially interested in the discovery of the antitumor drug and metalloprotein inhibitor.

B. Inorganic Computational Chemistry

     The research project is to apply computational catalysis approach to investigate the catalytic processes and catalyst design for biomass conversion and small molecule activation. The molecule design for metallodrug is also involved.

    I will mainly concentrate on studying varied types of cooperative catalyst systems by tackling the questions focused on several topics, such as structures, ligand effects, electron configurations, redox properties, oxidation states, spin densities, spectroscopic properties, reaction mechanisms, and the related kinetic and thermodynamic properties. The research is Interdisciplinary and combines the concepts of organometallics, organoelements, inorganic , computational and sustainable chemistry into catalysis issue.

C. Chemical Education

My focus in chemical education research involves two topics:

  1.  Development of the new teaching materials, activities and teaching aids that can inspire students to learn.
  2. Application of qualitative research method in teaching chemistry.

Both are multidisciplinary issues that integrate science, education, psychology, writing, communication and design into teaching research.

我的研究興趣主要在生物無機, 無機計算化學與化學教育三方面

A. 生物無機化學

在生物無機化學的研究方面, 主要聚焦於兩方面: (a) 設計能藉由動態共價鍵調控開關的配位化學鍵化學感應器, 希望能用於偵測環境或醫藥或生化製造程序所產生的特定化學物質;  (b) 設計有效的抗癌金屬藥物與基質金屬蛋白抑制劑


B. 無機計算化學

在無機計算化學的研究方面, 主要聚焦於以計算化學模擬與設計催化系統, 期待這些催化系統能應用在生質能源轉換與小分子活化上面. 研究亦涵蓋設計金屬藥物

在眾多催化系統中, 我的研究將首先定睛於各類 “協同催化系統” 的探究上, 藉著計算分子構型, 電子組態, 氧化還原行為, 自旋密度, 光譜性質, 反應機制與相關動力學熱力學數值, 來了解催化系統, 並進一步達到分子設計. 這是一個跨學科的研究, 結合有機金屬, 主族化學, 無機化學, 理論計算與永續化學的概念, 來探討催化議題!

B. 化學教育

我在化學教育上的研究主要分為兩個主題:

  1. 設計新教材, 教學活動, 科學教具/玩具以啟發學生學習
  2. 將質性研究方法應用於化學教學上

兩個主題都是多元學科議題, 透過整合科學, 教育, 心理,  寫作, 傳播與設計來研發科學教學

  •  具備心理/ 教育/大眾傳播/設計或相關專業, 對科學也有興趣的有為青年
